Material is propelled along the conveyor
shaft, as nut would be moved on a threaded bar if retained from rotation. In screw conveyor rotation of material together with screw is prevented
by its gravity force, and friction on the trough wall.

variety of materials like granular, free flowing, powdered, small lumps, etc.
Screw profiles are available in different forms like continuous, ribbon cut flight and paddle type, for conveying variety of materials. Continuous screws are used for conveying dry fine-granular and
pulverized materials not liable slumping, Ribbon type screws are effective with slumping materials. Paddle/Cut flight screws are used if intermixing of materials during conveying is required. |
